| Hello,
Let's talk about size. How big are the objects in our Universe, and how big can they get? Our planet (Earth) is nothing, compared to other stars and planets. Here I've found a good demonstration video to show you how big stars and planets can get:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sVuWO2Tct0
Don't think we are the middle of the Universe. We are a little dot in our galaxy. Our world is really small but we are here to explore the Universe and to find out why we are here.
I don't believe in god but many other people do.
Is really a god out there who has created us?
What do you think?
Have a nice day

| And we touch the rainbow's wings like hands And we're flying from this days to the past We don't need stopping distance to land Cause this world is too small for us I used to love on winter nights To lie and dream alone Of all the hopes and real delights my early years had know
It is a short poem :-)

| Quote (Adelina) We all can do something against global warming maybe we should drive more bicycle instead of cars. We should seperate the rubbish and be carefuler with our nature maybe we can palnt new plants. And so we can help our "Smallworld" to stay beautiful. smile
Danke für den Beitrag, Adelina! *Nur ein Fehler: more careful (Be more careful with this case!

| Globalization:
Some people live in cities, and other people - in the country, but all of them face a lot of environmental problems, the variety of which is rather big. The biggest ecological problem, I think, is the noise from cars and buses. Another problem is water pollution. On our Earth we have so many rivers, lakes and seas that are polluted, and as a result fish and reptiles cannot live in them. The Sun gives us warmth that we need so as to survive on our planet. But the thing is that within each year the average temperature is getting higher and higher (of course not without “the help” of a human being), and consequently we run the risk of being completely flooded. Thus, each person has to understand how important it is to solve this problem that presents such a great danger for people’s life. Globalization – is a process that gives many opportunities nowadays. For example, the globalization gives a chance to learn about cultures of different nations. And out project is a vivid example of it =) What is more, globalization is a difficult issue for many companies around the world. We see that globalization has its effects. It's a bit like electricity - we cannot see it, but we feel what it works. In my opinion, globalization is a process by which the world is being transformed into an indivisible global system, where economical, cultural and social boundaries are gradually disappearing, and our world does not seem that big and unknown as it used to.Added (11.05.2012, 03:05) --------------------------------------------- ^^ || || ||

| My definition of globalization
In my opinion is the simplest way to define it is the bringing together of economies and societies around the world. It's an attempt toward peaceful coexistence. One example is the introduction of the Euro. Since so many European countries have the same currency now, it's much easier to travel through the European Countries and spend your money. It unifies people. A common language could be a good goal for globalization. It's a way for people to work together as one.

| More than 800 million people fall a sleep starving every day, and 300 million of those 800 are only children. Poverty is a global crisis, something that affects many in a horrible way. “Poverty is going empty, with no hope for the future. Poverty is like watching your mother father, brothers and sisters die in pain and in sorrow just because they couldn’t get something to eat.” Poverty has been around for ages, and will always be around. It is always there and will always be a problem. Poverty affects many children in Africa. In Africa 40 to 70% of the population lives in slums, and the child mortality rate in those slums is 65% higher. The children in these slums live a terrible life. Here in Germany, we have houses and apartments, condos and duplexes, all of these living conditions are fine. Some people complain their house is too small, or they have to share a room. Imagine having no room to share or no house at all. When people complain about having a small house, they should imagine living in an overcrowded shack with no floors, no water, and no electricity. People in Africa have to live in those shacks. So be thankful for what you have. Do not complain because as you can see there are thousands of people whom it is worse.
Unfortunately, not corrected by my partner !!!

| The globalisation is not good for everyone, for example the internet makes things easier for criminals. Because of the high plane and car travic there is a climate change. Some ships leave dangerous garbage in the seaand their oil pollutes beaches.

| I think the world is small, because one can easily get to any other continent by plane (or by air) within few hours. One can learn different languages staying in one’s own country. One can transport food from one country to another, for example: bananas of Dominican Republic are sold in supermarkets of other countries. One can take ideas from other countries, for example: musik, films, telephones, TVs (different information technologies), clothes and so on.Added (13.05.2012, 22:13) --------------------------------------------- I think the world is small, because one can easily get to any other continent by plane (or by air) within few hours. | Hey all, Globalization has its good and bad points. It brings many different cultures and communities closer together. You can communicate very easy via the internet by using social networks, email or Skype all over the world. You will get new friend, knowledge and business relationships without a need of travelling. It is very important to speak English to communicate and to make business with other countries. Communication and communication technology are very important because of they enable to bring knowledge, pictures and business all over the world. On the other hand it will influence local cultures, languages, values and traditions. Yesterday we met our friends by having a date, going to the cinema, to make sport or by visiting a disco. Today we are using Facebook, MySpace, chat rooms or other social networks to get new friends. Could we trust them without having a date? We hear the same music, use the same clothes or eat the same hamburger in McDonald. The Globalization will create a lot of new jobs while existing ones will be destroyed. Local incomes and prices can be compared and make business stronger for the companies. Today it is very easy to use ships, trains and airplanes to bring your products in other countries and to get new customers. You can import products for example coffee, oil or tropical fruits which will be not produced in your own country. But the contra is that you will have more traffic and pollution of the environment on that. Furthermore global working companies can produce their products cheaper by using cheaper resources and maybe destroy smaller companies which cannot work globally. These are only some points I’m thinking about, what are your thoughts?
Best wishes Meike

Einige kleine Korrigierungen: *“Poverty is going empty, etc. - Wenn das ein Zitat ist, ist es besser den Autor nennen, oder wenigstens dass ein bekannter Mensch das gesagt hat. Und kannst du erklären, was eigentlich "Poverty is going empty" bedeutet? *there are thousands of people for whom it's (even) worse.

| -Globalization-
Globalization also means to me, to protect the environment. We should more watch out for the environment for example by not throwing garbage on the floor or simply recycle. Materials as glass, can restore itself to almost 100%. The same goes for plastic. From plastic garbage can for example produce toys for children. How Adelina said: cycling is a great alternative for shorter routes and it is not as harmful to the air and people.
I personally ride a lot bike and throw nothing on the ground. If everyone helps, we can the environment make better and healthier. Together we are strong and can create everything we want ...

Dein English ist gut, deswegen hast du nur zwei Fehler und einen Flüchtigkeitsfehler ( ich glaube so) 1. to bring your products TO other countries 2. es ist besser zu sagen "But the contra is that you will have more traffic and pollution of the environment BECAUSE OF that." *Und ein Flüchtigkeitsfehler: You will get new FRIENDS, knowledge and business relationships without a need of travelling.
